Boundary Line Surveying

A “Boundary Survey” is used to identify a property's boundary lines. In this type of survey, the surveyor will set (or recover) the property corners and produce a detailed plat or map.

Minor Subdivisions

Minor subdivision means a subdivision creating four or fewer lots or units not counting a "designated remainder parcel. Taking your vacant or occupied land and creating adequate space to build new structures.

Elevation Certificates

An elevation certificate is a document prepared by a qualified engineer / surveyor which provides information on:

elevation of a building relative to mean high tide
building type
flood map location
additional information used to determine the proper flood insurance premium rates for a property

MJ Gaston & Associates, LLC, is a small land surveying company that prides itself on providing quality personal service to all our customers.

Founded by Michael J. Gaston, the former Chief of Survey for the RI Department of Transportation, established this company as a way to use the experience and knowledge he has ascertained throughout his career with the RIDOT, and bring that expertise to the private sector.
